求高手指点：“衣袂飘飘”怎么翻成英语

袂，古语指袖口，Cuff，要能飘起来，肯定是长Cuff，因为古人的衣袖很长（你看看京剧就知道了），所以衣袂就得翻译成Long Cuff.

飘飘，应该是Flutter，这里是指飘动着的（有形容词的意思），就得加Ing;

所以，衣袂飘飘：Long fluttering cuff(整体是个名词）,或者翻译成伴随时态：with his/her long curr fluttering（是一个动态的词）

翻译成英语：唯有拼命展翅，方能腾空高飞！

个人认为在这里不能把spread写成v-ing形式,因为only if后接从句，改成spreading后从句便没有了谓语.要用v-ing也可以，那得把if 改为by,only by doing....

3L的朋友的flutter感觉有些道理，spread the wing表示展翅，flutter the wing表示振翅,但是我联想到苍鹰在天空翱翔的时候，会把翅膀展的很开，而不会大频率地去振动翅膀；又想到小鸟要想飞起来的话 也得不断地去振动翅膀 才能飞得起来。可能要先振翅 再展翅吧 也有可能小鸟振翅，大鸟展翅吧...
